ADVERTISING QUESTIONS
Do you have to be an FPCA Member to advertise on this Web Site?
Yes, you must be a member of Free PC Answers in order to advertise on this Web Site but membership is FREE!
I want to advertise on this Web Site but I do not have enough points
That is OK. We accept credit card paid advertising from FPCA members at our secure 128 bit encrypted payment site.
How much does it cost to advertise on your Free PC Answers Web Site?
That information is available on our Advertising Information Page which can be easily located by clicking on the Advertising Information menu option under the About Us menu option of the main menu.
What is the difference between your Advertising and your Classified Advertising?
Our Advertising refers to the ads that you see running across the top and bottom of most of our user and member area pages. Our Advertising also refers to the ads that you see running down the left and right sides of most of our user and member area pages. Our Classified Advertising refers only to ads that can be seen under the classified advertising section of our main menu.
How does one place an advertisement on your web site?
Placing an advertisement on our web site is a multi-step process:
1) Acquire a login to the site by joining as a member of Free PC Answers by clicking on the "New Members Join " option under the Members option of the main menu. Although membership is free at the silver level you must first register and provide correct information about yourself.
2) Highlight and Click on Purchase Ad Views under the Purchase Advertising option of the main menu. Purchase the number of Ad Views that you wish to purchase with either a credit card or with points. Unfortunately due to problems with our Merchant Account Provider's system we cannot at this time instantly credit the accounts of members paying for Ad Views with credit cards therefore we offer compensation to our credit card customers by providing 25% more Ad Views free to our credit card customers while the problem persists. This problem has nothing to do with the security of our Merchant Account Provider's site so please do not feel that there is any problem with their security. The problem has to do with an inability of anyone from their support staff understanding their product well enough to give us a few answers to some questions about how we can get their system to respond directly to ours. We are working on the problem and hope to have it resolved before launch or shortly thereafter. We apologize to our credit card paying customers for any unconvinced that this may cause you. Point paying customers will see their accounts accredited instantly with their purchase however. Unfortunately at this time though our credit card paying customers must wait up to one (1) business day for their accounts to be accredited with their Ad Views.
3) Highlight and Click on Upload or Create an Advert. under the Purchase advertising option of the main menu. Fill out the form and optionally upload your artwork (your jpeg or gif file) for your advertisement. Your Ad will be in a pending state once you have uploaded or created it. It usually takes about one (1) business day to approve pending advertisements. But that will not stop you from allocating your Ad Views to your advertisements.
4) Highlight and Click on Edit Ad or Allocate Views under the Purchase Advertising option of the main menu. Select the advertisement to which you wish to allocate your Ad Views. Your Ads are indexed for you in a reverse chronological order. In other words your most recently submitted ad is shown first and the first ad you ever submitted is shown last. Click the Allocate Ad Views to Ad # button to go to a form where you can allocate your Ad Views to this particular ad. On this form you may allocate any number of Ad Views up to the maximum number of Ad Views that you have purchased to this Ad. Be careful when allocating Ad Views as there is no way currently of re-allocating your Ad Views. From this form you may also specify a maximum number of times that your ad may be shown in one day. From the index page there is also a button allowing you to edit the text of your advertisement or to upload a different art file for it. Any editing of an already approved ad will place that ad back in to a pending state. However just allocating more Ad Views to an Ad does not place an Ad back into a pending state.
These instructions also largely apply for the purchase of Classified Ad Views. The Creation of Classified Ads and the allocation of Classified Ad Views to Classified Ad. There are also more detailed instructions on the individual web pages referred to in this answer.
BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY QUESTIONS
You mention a business opportunity in some of your advertising, what is it and how does it work?
There are several ways to earn money by joining Free PC Answers.
1)First and easiest is to write just one article for our web site. With the writing of an article you receive a link to a web site of your choice. In the author's bio area you get the chance to tell about yourself and/or an opportunity you are promoting. Silver members, our free membership level, receive up to three (3) author aliases which may be used to promote up to three different promotions on our site in exchange for only three different articles, tests, solutions etc.
2)By writing multiple articles, tests, solutions, or training's for this site you earn points for each approved article. Points may be applied to the purchase of advertising on this site. This refers to both web page advertising and to classified advertising. So in addition to the promotional link to your site you receive for each article, solution, test, or training tutorial, you may also advertise to the general user with an appealing graphic ad.
3)You may also recruit members to our web site. For each member that you recruit you receive a certain number of points depending on your membership level. Each member that you recruit is added to your down line. In addition to this you also receive a commission on any money spent at this web site, by any member in your down line according to your membership level.
Your membership level has an effect on how much you commission you earn.
I don't have anything to promote, how do I go about getting something to promote on your web site?
There are a myriad ways of finding something to promote on the Internet. One way would be to read some of the articles, solutions, tests, reviews and traning tutorials on this web site paying special attention to the advertisements across the top and bottom or down the sides of the pages for anything that interests you. Also there are (or soon will be) Articles and Reviews in the Internet Business Opportunities options of our main menu. A second way would be to type the word: "Affiliate" into any search engine and sign up to become an affiliate of another site. Third you may wish to click on this link and start here: Promote Products with Clickbank. Finally there are many drop shippers out there that will ship a product to your customer that you sell.

Use the above mentioned URL on a traffic exchange site like Traffic Swarm. There are many good traffic exchanges on the Internet that can be easily found by typing 'Internet Traffic Exchange" into Google or Yahoo or any internet search engine. A another good site that will let you post an ad for free and really help you to promote this site to members is: Adland Pro . Don't forget to upgrade your membership to Gold which has a three (3) level downline as soon as you can. Also our Platinum level membership has a five (5) level downline. Then you'll make money off of the people who sign up under the people you sign up. And the ones who sign up under them etc.
How do I know that the recruits and new members that I send to this site will really be credited to me?
Here at Free PC Answers we have a special IP tracking database. Each visitor who comes to Free PC Answers gets their IP address recorded and associated with membership id of the person who sent them. This sticky address association lasts for at least five (5) days. That means that anyone sent by you to this site is yours if they sign up within five (5) days or so. If they do sign up then they and everybody they sign up is added to your downline.
How do I know if I have a downline?
You can know how many people have signed up under you by visiting your Member Status Page which is located to the left of the main menu. If you are a Silver member then you only have one level of downline to make money from. But those people are still adding people to your next level for when you decide to become a Gold member they will become visible. When you upgrade to Gold Member either with points or with your credit card, you will have your view of your three (3) downline levels. When you upgrade to Platinum member either through points or with your credit card you will see all five (5) of your downline levels.
MEMBERSHIP QUESTIONS
How long does my membership last?
For life -- unless revoked. Whether it is your life or the life of this site, you will only have to join once as long as you remain a member in good standing. Unless you behave in a manner that is untoward to this site. Trying to post inappropriate material, signing up underneath yourself, or trying to hack this site are some of the reasons for your membership to be revoked. Members of this site are expected to behave as professionals. Any unprofessional behavior is an excuse for revokation of your membership.
Why would I want to upgrade my membership?
There are many reasons why you may want to upgrade your membership.
1) Higher Level members (i.e.: Platinum and Gold) have their articles, solutions, training tutorials, reviews and tests indexed before Silver members in all indexes and onsite searches.
2) Higher Level members receive more author aliases than Silver members. Gold members receive ten (10) author aliases and Platinum members receive unlimited aliases.
3) Higher Level members receive more points for each article, solution, test or training tutorial they submit. High Level members also receive more points for each new member that they recruit. Gold members usually receive double the number of points as Silver members and Platinum members usually receive double the number of points as Gold members.
4) Higher Level members have a multi-level down line of recruited members. In other words they also receive commisions on monies spent by the members that the members they recruited recruit! Gold level members have a 3 level downline and Platinum level members have a 5 level downline!
So it is pretty obvious why it is desirable to upgrade your membership.
Why do you have different membership levels? Why not treat everyone equally?
The reason is to reward the members who are doing more for this site. The more you do for this site the greater your rewards will be. Our goal is to disperse up to 50% of the money spent at this site amoungst our members. We want the greater rewards to go to members who write more and better articles, solutions, practice tests, and training tutorials. We also want the greater rewards to go to those who recruit the greater number of new members. Those who recruit large numbers of members and write many articles, solutions, tests, etc. have the opportunity to upgrade their memberships without spending any money. We are also appreciative of those who upgrade their memberships via their credit cards. These people through their cash support are also helping to maintain this site. After all, money and helping people is the reason we do this, right?
How can I upgrade my membership?
Upgrading your membership is easy: just log in and click on the Upgrade Membership menu option and your membership upgrade options will appear. There are two ways to upgrade:
1) Upgrade with your credit card. For reasonable rates you may upgrade your membership with your credit card. A Gold Level Membership is $100 plus a Silver Level Membership. Platinum Level Membership is $250 plus a Gold Level Membership.
2) Upgrade using your points. Points earned writing articles, tests, solutions and training tutorials may be used to upgrade your membership. Just login, highlight and click Upgrade Membership option from the main menu and you will see your membership upgrade choices. If you do not see a way to upgrade using points it is because you do not have enough points to upgrade your membership using points.
As stated elsewhere in this FAQ membership level is permanent for the life of the site, assuming a well behaved member.
What is Kontest Kitty?
Kontest Kitty is our contest web page. Here at Free PC Answers we hold contests all the time in an effort to further reward our best writers. Although more details are available on the Kontest Kitty web page we will summarize here. At any given time there are contests going on for our members. Most of our contests are performance based however we do occasionally have a random drawing for members. Prizes are usually awarded in the form of points but as time goes on certain cash funds have been allocated to contest kitty. For instance there is a shortfall between the commission paid to Silver and Gold Level members and the stated goal of awarding 50% of all money spent on this web site to our members. This shortfall will be assigned to Kontest Kitty. As this money grows there will be contests with cash prizes advertised on this page. Additionally there will be members who sign up with Free PC Answers who found this site without the use of one of our affiliates's promotions. These members will be collected and assigned to Kontest Kitty's downline. Once there is a sizeable Kontest Kitty downline there will be a contest where the prizes awarded will be this downline.
How do I make sure I get credit for a member I recruited?
That is very simple: make sure you use your affiliate link. Your affiliate link should be set up as:
http://www.freepcanswers.com?id=[membershipid]
Of course you want to replace the brackets and the membership with your membership id. for example: http://www.freepcanswers.com?id=1165972517 You can find your membership number on your Member Status Page which is under the Members Status Pages option of the main menu.
GENERAL QUESTIONS
I have read this FAQ and there are a lot of menu options referred to that I do not see.
That is because you have to be a member and logged on to see them. The menu you see when not logged on is called the User area. It is for members and non-members alike. However the members have more menu options such as the option to write an article, write a test, upgrade their membership, purchase advertising with either points or a credit card, etc. They will see the other options when they have logged onto this web site. That area is called the membership area.
